Welcome to this week’s #WednesdayWisdom post brought to you by Katie, Pixel’s newest addition to the team! Katie will be offering advice on how you can make the most out of your next exhibition!

Prepare, prepare and prepare again!

Before you even think about booking a spot for your company at an exhibition, you need to take into consideration what you want to get out of this event and what you will do to execute that plan.

How will you stand out from your competitors? How do you want them to remember you? How will you stay in their minds after they have left the event?

Make sure you know what you need to make the day a success!

Stand out from the crowd…

In recent years, the way that businesses present themselves at expos has evolved. At an exhibition where you have lots of businessesĀ that are competing with each other to get the same customers’ attention, it’s more important than ever to make sure you stand out and present a clear message to your target audience.

New products such as media stands and ink-on-fabric displays can do just that. The key is to think outside of the box, they can be printed with any design, and most companies choose their stands to be fully branded up to get maximum awareness. Below are some images to show what kinds of things you can use to really stand out from your competitors.

Pre-exhibition prep…

The idea of exhibitions is not only to sell your products/services, it’s to create brand awareness to make sure you leave a lasting impression. Ensuring that you take the right steps with your marketing prior to the event can help you maximize this! A good way to get attention is to offer your customer base/target audience a deal that they can only get if they come along and see you at your exhibition. Use the platforms below to execute this!

  • Website: Ensure there is a banner, slider or something on the landing page of your website to tell people that you’ll be exhibiting at that event.
  • Email Marketing: Putting together a visualĀ email together to tell your customers about your event can make the process more direct and has a higher chance of being viewed.
  • Email signatures: Use emails within your business frequently? Create a visual signature that will draw attention of the receiver and will inform that you’re attending that event and any offers that they’ll receive if they visit you.
  • Social Media: This is an excellent way to get more exposure when telling customers about an event you’ll be attending. Incorporate the offer scheme into your social media posts by getting customers to share your post for a chance to win some money off one of your products or services. This way you’ll extend your post reach potential, meaning more people will see it and hopefully visit you!

Leave a lasting impression…

It is also essential to ensure that when you’re at an exhibition, your audience doesn’t immediately forget who you are once they leave the event. Building relationships increases your odds on maintaining that contacts loyalty, and there is no better way to do this than giving them something to take home to remind them of your business.

  • Promo Items:Ā Handing out promotional items such as branded up pens, calendars or bags is an ideal way to stay at the front of your audiences minds, as these are products they will use during their working day. It has been found that 89% of people keep and use an item if it is useful to them. This also means that your brand will be in front of them for weeks, subtly reminding them of your business.
  • Folders: If you’re handing out lots of content such as leaflets to your potential customers, it might be wise to consider purchasing some branded folders. This way your leaflets won’t be lost in the bottom of a bag with all of the other flyers that they may have picked up along the way at the exhibition. It makes it much easier for them to pick up and flick through any of your literature.
  • Brochures: A brochure is a piece of literature that can have a massive impact. Using bold imagery and having a clear message can make you stand out from the rest of your competitors. Ensure that you include all of the relevant information that makes you different, and present it in a way that is eye-catching and memorable.
