We were invited along to the Midlands Fashion Awards on the 11th October with Lisa Shepherd and her hair crew as her media team to create a behind-the-scenes style video to showcase their involvement in the show.

Lisa and team were the hairdressing team for the event and had a huge job of creating unique hairstyles for 22 models. As brand ambassadors of Balmain UK, there were many beautiful accessories on hand to give a punch to all types of hair – including an incredible wig! Once the models hairs had all been finessed and completed, they headed downstairs to get dressed into their catwalk outfits. Lisa was a judge at the Awards so spent some time chatting with the collection creators and models.

Throughout the evening we spent time with the team filming clips of the hairstyles being created, as well as venturing around the building to get some establishing & “filler” shots. We were given no real direction or storyboard with this project, so it was great experience for us to be filming in a busy environment as well as having to think about what shots will look best in the final edit of the video. The freedom also allowed us to collate lots of imagery & video that will be used on Lisa’s marketing campaign’s going forward.

The audience then started to arrive and the catwalk was due to begin. We made our way into the staging area and sat centre stage amongst other press photographers & videographers. The models then made their way out, a collection at a time. Our focus was to not only capture the outfits, but also the amazing hair and Balmain UK accessories which really stole the show.

With the video being a successful piece of marketing material & enjoyed by Lisa & the models involved in the show, we saw a huge increase in Lisa’s Instagram profile following as well as recognition and kind words from Balmain UK themselves! You can see the video we produced for Lisa & team below, we’re super proud of this & have had so much brilliant feedback.
