Where do we start?
As a result of COVID-19, many businesses have had to adapt in ways that they would have normally never needed to. However, when you do decide to implement new changes (whether it is to the privacy policy, payment methods, workspace or business management) it’s really important to keep your customers and audience in the loop.
We are all individuals who are unique with different personalities, interests & likes/dislikes. This means that our preferences in terms of what platforms we use (such as social media, email or internet browsers) all vary. Therefore, when you do release a new promotion, guidance or changes to your business you need to take into account where you need to post that new information, how you are going to present it & where is your biggest audience found.
Look at your website…
Don’t forget, your website is the window to your businesses. It allows visitors & customers to get a glimpse of who you are as a business, what kinds of things you do & it is the first point of contact when checking for any changes or updates that are happening to your business – especially during this unpredictable time. There are many ways that you can communicate with your audience through the use of your website. This includes a banner placed in the header or footer of the home page, pop-up for when users click on your website or you can add a live chat option where users can contact you through if they have further questions.

Send out an email…
Sending out emails is still proven to be one of the most cost-effective methods to liaise with customers & keep them updated with what is going on with your business, especially if there are any changes, updates or offers.
If you are not already taking advantage of this, now is the time for you to do so. Go ahead & start building those strong business relationships with your customers. There are plenty of websites which you can use for free to create your campaigns that come with already built in templates that you will only need to slightly change to personalise it to your branding & business. We would highly recommend using Mailchimp especially if you haven’t got much experience in creating email marketing campaigns. Of course, we’re always on hand to help if needed, just ask!

Use the power of social media…
Do you know anyone who doesn’t have a single social media account? A huge amount of people dedicate majority of their day to browsing on social media. It is one of the most powerful & influential type of platforms available, especially if you need to get important information out. Therefore, you you need to ensure that you are keeping an active social media presence as most of your customers are already set up on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. So why not take advantage of this and share the news with them this way?
Alternatively, you could create groups or communities on Facebook or LinkedIn which solely focuses on one particular subject which is a great way to target a specific audience & allows for you to form smaller but closer business relationships.

Put it in a video…
Make it fun, make it engaging & make it interesting to look at! Videos are useful in getting a message across in a more stimulating way that encourages users to click and watch the video. Most of us scroll & don’t take the time to read all the caption or text on all images posted on social media. However, If something is being said to us we are more likely to react and engage with it especially if it’s an interesting subject or just looks good!
Editing videos doesn’t have to be complicated. Although many businesses use softwares such as Premier Pro which can take a while to get your head round, you can resort to softwares such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker which also are able to produce professional & attractive video campaigns. Again, if you think a video is right for you but you don’t know where to start, we’re here to lend a hand.

Feature it in a blog post…
Blogs are something which we really encourage our clients to have & help them understand the importance of producing content regularly on their websites. Not only are they analytically important for your website, but they also allow you to share any news, changes or offers that you are currently running.
Blogs don’t have to be boring and only text driven. They are really flexible in terms of adding images, videos, links & playing around with the layout. Once you have created a blog post, you can then share it on all your social media platforms – maybe even feature it on the home page to get more traffic directed towards it! Blog posts are a great way to drive traffic to your site but also keep your customers in the loop.
